Dimapur, Feb. 7 (EMN): The 51st Chakhroma wrestling meet, organised by the Chakhroma Youth Organisation (CYO) will be held at DDSC stadium, Dimapur on Feb. 10.
60 wrestlers will participate in the senior category, while 40 wrestlers will take part in the junior category. Zhaleo Rio, advisor for Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs will be the special guest, an update informed.
The champion of the senior category will receive INR 80,000, while the second, third and fourth will receive INR 50,000, INR 40,000 and INR 30,000 respectively.
In the junior category, the winner will receive INR 20,000, second INR 15,000, third INR 10,000 and fourth INR 7000. The quarter finalists in the senior and junior categories will receive INR 5000 and INR 2000 respectively.
Meanwhile, to uphold the brotherhood pledge amongst the Western Sumi Sports Association (WSSA), Western Chakhesang Youth Organisation (WCYO) and CYO, Vikato S Aye, VP of NDPP Central Youth Organisation representing Sumi Community, Vekhosayi Nyekha, president, Tenyimia Union Forum, Dimapur representing Chakhesang community and Zhato Kimho, president of Naga Tribal Hoho Forum, Dimapur representing Angami community will be the patrons of the day, it informed.
Further, selection for athletic events and indoor games for the upcoming Angami Sports Association (ASA) will be held from Feb. 14 to the 19th at Vidya Bhawan and Greenwood Hr. Sec. School on Feb. 9.
