36th PDSA meet: Vethozo Lohe upsets three-time defending champion

Thenyizumi, March 25 (EMN): Vethozo Lohe of Tizu Area Sports Association (TASA) defeated PDSA’s three-time men’s arm wrestling champion Niekhozo Keroh from Center Chakhesang Sports Association (CCSA) to win gold on day-three of the 36th Phek District Sports Association (PDSA) meet at Thenyizumi village.

Keroh had to be content with the silver medal, while Rave Vese from Phek Area Sports Association (PASA) won bronze.

Meanwhile in women’s arm wrestling, Hushelu Keyho from Phek Area Sports Association (PASA) won gold, Veluvolu Nyekha representing Chozuba Area Sports Association (CASA) won silver and another CASA’s player Muluno Ringa won bronze.

In men’s 5000 metre race, Wede T Mero of Secheku Area Sports Association (SASA) won gold, silver by Central Chakhesang area sports association (CCSA)’s Mutsizo Lohe and Shekuzo Soho won bronze.

In women’s 3000 metre race, Vesatsilu Khüsoh from CASA won gold, Vebilu Kezo representing (PASA) Phek won silver and bronze was won by Wewukhou Swüro of Secheku (SASA).

In 4×100 meter men relay race, Center Chakhesang Sports Association (CCSA) sprinters- Kucüyi Vadeo, Nuvevo Sakhamo, Kuzholuyi D Vadeo and Cüsu Sakhamo won gold; Phek Area Sports Association (PASA) sprinters; Poshezo Chizo, Shevoyi Khamo, Khoku Kezo and Velutso Chizo won silver and Chozuba Area Sports Association (CASA) sprinters- Yhoto Lohe, Rato Ringa, Lhukhoyi Vero and Nuritso Keyho won bronze.

In 4×100 metre women’s relay race Phek Area Sports Association (PASA) sprinters- Vephilu Hoshi, Nunielu Hoshi, Zhosalu Chizo and Choyivelu Nienu won gold; CAGSA sprinters- Niesuzolü Theluo, Honi Medeo, Ravolu Nyekha and Kuzhopolu Medeo won silver and Secheku Area Sports Association (SASA) sprinters- Mewekhro-u Venuh, Thomewe-u Mekrisuh, Ketsehu Duolo and Khrolo-u T Mero won bronze.

Football

Khwetelhi Thopi from Secheku Area Sports Association (SASA) scored his second hat-trick, playing against Sekruzu Area Sports Association (SASA) in the quarter final match in men’s football.

In another thrilling match, Chokri Area Games and Sports Association (CAGSA) beat Khezha-khuzha Area Sports Association (KKASA) with a lone goal to advance to the next stage.

While in the third match, Phoyisha Area Sports Association (PASA) scored the first goal, however Chozuba Area Sports Association (CASA) made up the play with three successive goals and ended with a scoreline of 3-1.

Center Chakhesang team beat Phek Area Sports Association (PASA) by 2-0.

Secheku area sports association (SASA) will take on Chokri Area Games and Sports Association (CAGSA) for the first semi-final match on Friday at 9 am.

Meanwhile, the second semi-final will be played between CASA and Center Chakhesang team at 11 am.

In the women’s football semi-finals, Center Chakhesang beat Tizu Area Games and Sports Association (TASA) by 2-0; in the second semi-finals, Phek Area Sports Association (PASA) defeated Secheku Area Sports Association (SASA) by 2-0.

Women’s football final match will be played between Phek Area Sports Association (PASA) and Center Chakhesang team at 1 pm.

Basketball

Khezha-khuzha team beat CAGSA to advance to the final, while in the second semi-final, Secheku Area Sports Association (SASA) beat Phek Area Sports Association (PASA). The final match will witness a clash between Khezha-khuzha team and SASA.

In women’s basketball, Secheku Area Sports Association (SASA) beat Phek Area Sports Association (PASA) and CAGSA beat Center Chakhesang. CAGSA will clash against Secheku area in the final match..

Volleyball

In the first men’s volleyball semi-final match, Chozuba Area Sports Association (CASA) beat Tizu Area Sports Association (TASA) and in the second semi-final, CAGSA beat Center Chakhesang.

While, in women’s volleyball, the first semi-final match will be played between CASA and TASA and in the second semi-final match, CAGSA will take on Sekruzu (SASA) on Friday.
