36th PDSA meet: Thopi, Nyekha score hat-trick

Thenyizumi, March 24 (EMN): The ongoing 36th Phek District Sports Association (PDSA) at Thenyizumi village entered day-two on Wednesday.
Khwetelhi Thopi from Secheku Area Sports Association (SASA) scored the first hat trick in football while Khruzovoyi Nyekha of CAGSA secured the second hat-trick in their respective matches on Wednesday.
Meanhwhile, Khezha-khuzha area sports team defeated Tizu Area Sports Association by 2-0; while Secheku area sports association scored five goals against Phek Area; Phoyisha Area Sports Association lost to Khezha-Kuzha team in another match by 1-3; while Meluri Area Sports Association and Chozuba Area Sports Association ended in a draw with goal line of 2-2; Sekruzu Area Sports Association team lost to Center Chakhesang with 0-3 goals while Meluri area lost by a landslide to Chokri area team with the scoreline of 0-10.
Meanwhile, in women’s football, Center Chakhesang team defeated Chozuba area with by 2-1 goals, Tizu area defeated Chokri area with 3-1; Secheku area team outplayed Khezha-khuzha by 2-1 and Phek Area team defeated Sekrezu area by 3-0.
Men’s football quarter final and women’s football semi-final matches will be played on Thursday.
Field events
In the high jump event, Eto Kezo of Chokri Area Games and Sports Association (CAGSA) won gold, while Rüvezo Rose of CAGSA won silver and Luzio Venuh of Phek Area Sports Association (PASA) and Küzhonu Vadeo of Center Chakhesang Sports Association (CCSA)won the bronze medals.
While in triple jump, Kukalhu Nienu of CCSA won a gold medal, Nuvezo Sakhamo of CCSA won silver and PASA’s Poshezo Chizo won bronze medal.
In men’s long jump, Acuzo Tetseo of CAGSA won gold medal, Kropa Ruho of CCSA won silver and Velhüto Ringa of Chozuba Area Sports Association (CASA) won bronze.
In women’s long Jump, Kuzhopolu Medeo representing CAGSA won gold, Choyivelu Nienu of PASA won silver and Muletalu Tetseo from CAGSA won the bronze medal.
5000 and 3000 metre race will be held on Thursday morning.
Basketball
The first semi-final match for men’s basketball will be played between CAGSA and KKASA while in the second semi-final match, Phek Area Sports Association (PASA) will take on Secheku Area Sports Association (SASA).
While in women’s basketball, in the first semi-final match PASA will take on Secheku while the second semi-final match will be played between CAGSA and CCSA.
Volleyball
In men’s volleyball, CASA defeated SASA, while CAGSA outplayed TASA; Phek (PASA) defeated CCSA and Secheku (SASA) beat KKSA.
CASA in the second match defeated MASA and CAGSA defeated Secheku (SASA), while Sekrezu (SASA) team defeated Phek (PASA); meanwhile, Tizu (TASA) beat KKSA and CASA defeated CCSA.
While in women’s volleyball, Sekrezu (SASA) defeated it counterparts Secheku area; Tizu area defeated Center Chakhesang; Chozuba area defeated Khezha-khuzha team; Chokri Area outplayed Phek Area and Chozuba area team in another match defeated Secheku area team.
