1st Kohima futsal championship underway
Kohima, Sept. 2 (EMN): The first Kohima District Futsal Championship kicked off on Friday at L Viluo FIFA Pro Turf at Meriema, with PA to the Advisor, Urban Development & and Municipal Affairs, Ato Puro, as special guest in the inaugural function
A total of nine teams are competing in the two- day championship and the winner will represent the district in the upcoming Nagaland Futsal Championship.
On Friday, eight teams which won in the group league matches advanced to the quarter finals. The winning teams are Lhouchalie FC, Amigos FC, Sechü Zubza FC, Sechü Zubza FC Youth, A Yhome FC-A, A Yhome FC-B, Zasivi FC Jotsoma, and Circle FC Meriema.
Kevizakie Ciesotsu of Circle FC, Kevisanyü Peseyie of Zasivi FC, Noune Medoze of Lhouchalie FC, Radove of Team MODS, Mhasikhotuo of Lhouchalie FC and Shürhosul Zhotso of Sechü Zubza FC were awarded ‘Man of the match’ in their respective matches.
The winner of the championship will receive cash prize of INR 30,000 along with trophy, certificates while the runner-up will pocket INR 20,000 along with certificates.
The quarter finals will be played on Saturday.
