- DIMAPUR — The Zeliangrong Youth Organisation
Nagaland (ZYON) has decided to temporarily suspend its ongoing agitation in
connection with the unsolved Pimla murder case until further notice.
- The decision was taken after a consultative meeting with the
civil society organisations (CSOs) of Peren district on April 26, in view of
ZYON’s upcoming meeting with the home commissioner of Nagaland.
- In a press statement, the President of ZYON, R John Zeliang,
informed that the organisation is scheduled to meet with the home commissioner
of Nagaland on April 28 in Kohima to discuss issues related to the Pimla murder
case.

- However, he said if the outcome of the meeting does not meet
their expectation, they will resume the second phase of the agitation starting
Tuesday, April 29, which will involve a lightning bandh across Peren district.
- He appealed to all citizens of Peren district, as well as
those residing in other districts, to support the agitation.
- During the first phase of agitation, the ZYON seized a few
government-registered vehicles that had violated the agitation guidelines in
Peren district; they assured that these vehicles would be returned to the
owners once the agitation was officially called off.
- Zeliang also mentioned that if the second phase of agitation
is to be initiated, they will convene a coordination meeting with the tribal
bodies and CSOs of Peren district.
- The ZYON expressed hope that their grievances would be
addressed during the meeting with the home commissioner on Monday.
