Dimapur, Feb. 18: A polytechnic institute in Atoizu in Zunheboto district is reported to have been robbed. The Khelhoshe Polytechnic Teachers’ Association issued a press release on Saturday informing that Khelhoshe Polytechnic was robbed during December 2016 and January this year.
The statement implied that the current instance of robbery was not the first for the institution.
Denouncing the alleged robbery, the association stated that “five lecturer quarters, and govt. hostel-3 (boys) at Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu, during semester break i.e. Dec. 2016 and Jan. 2017” was robbed.“...this uncivilized act of robbery in Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) is happening repeatedly during semester break. This act of robbery not only cause loss of our belongings but also affects the conducive environment and morally demotivate (sic) the teaching-learning process in the institute,” the association explained.
The association has requested “all the sensible citizens to strongly condemn this kind of uncivilized act.”
The group informed that an FIR has been lodged “against the robbery” for further necessary action. Likewise, the association has appealed to the authorities in concern “not to let off the case but booked the culprit at the earliest and give befitting punishment.”
The association informed to have placed a representation to the authorities to arrange at least one police outpost or “platoon” for safety and security of the institute and campus.
“Therefore without further delay, once again we request the concerned authority to expedite the process for the welfare of the faculty, staffs and students community at KPA,” the press release added.
