Dimapur, May 29 (EMN): Zunheboto district has lifted the ban on fish, but with a number of conditions.
The government had banned the sale and import of fish and fish products in Nagaland after authorities found them to be treated with formalin.
The government’s publicity agency, the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) gave updates on Wednesday about said event.

The deputy commissioner of Zunheboto, Shanavas C issued an order stating that the ban imposed on the sale of fish and fish products in the district was being lifted with immediate effect.

The administration listed a number of conditions: All fish vendors are required to be registered and licensed under section-32 of the Food Safety Act of 2006, and to obtain ‘improvement certificate.’

“Only vendors that satisfy these criteria may be allowed to sell fish in Zunheboto district,” the IPR added.
