Zunheboto district inter-departmental tournament concludes

DIMAPUR — The Zunheboto district 10th inter-departmental tournament concluded on September 9 with the closing ceremony-cum-prize distribution held at DSCZ Indoor Stadium, Zunheboto town.

Tournament convenor and vice chairman of District Sports Council Zunheboto (DSCZ), Hekato Sema, his address, thanked G Ikuto Zhimomi, Advisor of Land Resources, for gracing the opening ceremony as a special guest and also his generous donation to the DSCZ, an official update stated.

The convenor also thanked Deputy Commissioner Rahul Bhanudas Mali, chairman DSCZ, Sumi Hoho, Sumi Totimi Hoho, Kukami Kukhakulu, and all the participants from different departments, who displayed great sportsmanship spirit.

He further thanked the match referees, linesmen and spectators who helped in making the tournament a success.

In the men’s singles badminton, Kupe Kapfo, Superintendent of Police Zunheboto from DEF defeated H Hinoka Sema from DEO (Education) in a straight set to win the title.

In the men’s doubles, Kainoto and Kihika from PWD (R&B) defeated H Hinoka and Inato from DEO (Education) department. In the women’s single Likabo from Soil and Water Conservation department defeated Razoukienuo from 8 NAP Nalto in a straight set. In men’s double carom, DEF Zunheboto defeated PHED department to win the title.
