The district media officer for the CMO issued a press release to the media on Tuesday informing about the event. During the event, Deputy CMO Dr. K Akaho Sema asked the laboratory technicians to be punctual and sincere. He sought weekly and monthly submission of laboratory reports. ‘Disciplinary action will be taken against those who do not comply, the updates stated. ‘The district is slowly picking up and doing a good job. However there is a lot that need to be improved in the delivery of health services,’ he said. He was stated to have challenged the laboratory technicians to achieve the targets that have been set and to stay in their respective place of posting regularly. According to the IPR’s report, the officer urged the laboratory technicians to put in their best efforts and to improve the ‘overall lab test reporting in the district.’ The IPR quoted him as having told them to coordinate with the ‘different vertical programmes.’ The laboratory technicians also spoke about their grievances and problems during the discussion hour, the IPR stated. In other matters, block-wise performance of the district laboratory technicians was reviewed during the programme. The technicians were also given training in the application of various reporting formats, the IPR informed. Altogether 17 laboratory technicians attended the meeting, the updates added.
