The decision to this effect was taken during its meeting on July 16 held in the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto. The members welcomed the new Deputy Commissioner, Peter Lichamo. Work distribution for the Independence Day celebration was discussed where parade contingents were to be confirmed after consultation. SDO (Mechanical) was entrusted for ground maintenance and also resolved to not allow any kind of mela at the public ground. The DC has directed the PWD (R&B) to keep all the machineries in good working condition so as to provide timely assistance during monsoon season since roads get blocked by landslide, mudslide etc. The DC has also convened a special DPDB meeting on July 23 and directed all the members to attend the meeting.
