DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 9
THE Zeliang People’s Organisation Nagaland (ZPO-N) has resolved that should any untoward incident happens during the inauguration of the new Peren district headquarters on December 11, those people pushing for it will be held responsible.
The ZPO (N) said it had already appealed for intervention by the Governor of Nagaland through his office, the highest seat of governance in the state to put on hold the proposed ill-timed inauguration of the office of Deputy Commissioner Peren on December 11 at the new district headquarters. It further said a dual representation was submitted on December 3 and 6 accompanied by all substantial and validly referable documents. The ZPO (N) also said the documents include high court directives for further spot verification to ascertain the actual status of affairs fearing impracticability of delivering justifiable public service for lack of basic minimum amenities and infrastructure except causing massive inconvenience to the general public and government employees numbering more than 500 people under various departments if the erratic decision of the government is implemented at the present time and not ruling out unfortunate contingency on the issue in question the stance of the Zeliang People’s Organisation Nagaland as has been very vocal throughout.
“Therefore, it is clarified for the benefit of all concerned that it should not be held responsible should any untoward eventuality occurs in the immediate and near future jeopardizing the interest and welfare of the general public but the Government of Nagaland and it’s key functionaries who are raucously involved with reasons best known to them alone should be held responsible and accountable,” the ZPO(N) cautioned.
