DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Zeliang Peoples’ Organisation (ZNPO) and Kuki Inpi Nagaland (KIN) have condemned and rejected the book ‘Zalengam’ written by P S Haokip, president of the Kuki National Organisation (KNO).
In a joint statement, ZNPO and KIN stated that the two organisations met on October 11 at the residence of Kevipele Iheilung, president of NZPO, at Jalukie, Peren, and discussed the controversial writings of Haokip that mentioned the history of Peren district.
The organisations claimed that the writings were devoid of actual facts and declared that the book in question is borne of Haokip’s personal figment of imagination and has no bearing on the relationship between the Zeliang and Kuki people of Nagaland.
The organisations also requested that all right thinking people not give credence to the contents of the book and not do anything that disturbs the peaceful co-existence of both the tribes in Nagaland in general and Peren district in particular.
