ZLSU officials inspect schools in Tening
Dimapur, Oct. 12 (EMN): Executives of the Zeliang Students’ Union Nagaland (ZLSU) inspected the Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) and the Zeliangrong Heraka School in Tening town on October 11 and held meetings with the school authorities.
During meeting at GHSS, the school authority briefed the union on the working of the school and also presented report on the total enrolment of students as well as the strength of both teaching and non teaching staff.
In the course of discussion, the school’s headmaster, Joseph Gangmei, disclosed on inadequate teaching staffs and emphasised on the urgent need of a mathematics teacher, which remained vacant since July 31 last due to the retirement of the school’s lone mathematics teacher.
In responds, the union assured to help and support towards meeting their grievances. The union also encouraged the teachers to continue working for the uplift of the students.
The union also visited Zeliangrong Heraka School to see the construction of tribal boys hostel and held discussion with the assistant headmistress and colleagues.
It stated that the union vice president Dr. Pauzieleubo encouraged the school authority to carry out the work earnestly and in all honesty to maintain the good image and result of the school.
The school’s assistant headmistress, Talamsile Newmai, highlighted about the project on how it remained still on standby without any developmental work till date. She has sought support of the union and assured to fully cooperate with the union in the future in order to maintain transparency and provide justice to the society.
The school board along with the union officials visited the project site to verify the ground reality and confirmed that no work has been carried out.
Meanwhile, the union has appealed to all the officers of the respective departments within its jurisdiction to be in station and provide service to the public.
