Zhaleo Rio inaugurates inter-ward football league

Dimapur, Dec. 8 (EMN): The first Inter-Ward Football League Tournament of Medziphema town, commenced on Thursday at local ground, Medziphema, with Advisor, Sericulture, Excise & Minority Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, as special guest in the inaugural ceremony.

Addressing the event, Zhaleo lauded the efforts of Medziphema Town Youth Organisation (MTYO) for organising the tournament, thereby bringing people together through sports and fostering the spirit of unity with the onset of festive season.

He advised the sportspersons to "play with professionalism and not to pass time" because there is enormous scope in games and sports. He further noted that "we should always remember, 'Sucess is 99% perspiration and 1% luck," and urged youngsters to pursue their goals with grit and determination.

On election process scheduled next year, Zhaleo stated that "elections will come with or without solution". While thanking the people of his constituency 5 Ghaspani-II A/C for reposing faith in him during two terms, he affirmed that he is committed to bring more developments even in future.

Earlier, Kepe Nakhro, president of MTYO, delivered welcome speech and Rokokholie Sothu, games & sports secretary, MTYO, administered the oath to players.
