Zhaleo inaugurates Xelhozhe village gate

Dimapur, Dec. 4 (EMN): Advisor of Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs, Zhaleo Rio inaugurated a village gate (RCC) at Xelhozhe village, Old Showuba, on December 4.

Speaking at a simple inaugural ceremony, Zhaleo lauded the committed efforts of the village authorities who shouldered the responsibility to construct the village gate within a stipulated time. Stating that Nagas consider traditional gates as a pride, he urged the villagers to properly maintain their gate for the future.

Rio also acknowledged the unwavering support bestowed on him by the villagers and said that “modern Nagas should discard old school politics of clan-ism, tribalism etc. but rather choose visionary leaders who work exceptionally for the welfare of the people without bias,” an update from NDPP 5 Ghaspani-II AC media secretary Thejangukho Yalietsu stated.

Also extending his wishes for the festive season, Rio advised everyone to be “wary of the pandemic which is here to stay until a precise vaccine is produced” and to follow all precautionary measures given by the government department.

The function was chaired by the village council chairman Yevishe Kiba, while the dedicatory prayer was said by Rev. Hetovi Awomi, pastor of XVBC. The village head GB Lashito Shohe and Huska Zhimo, who also spoke on the occasion, have acknowledged the advisor for construction of the gate and widening of the village road for the forthcoming golden jubilee celebration of the village.
