Dimapur, Dec. 3 (EMN) : Advisor of Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs, Zhaleo Rio inaugurated the Northern Angami Colony Council Kuda (NACCK) at Walford, Dimapur, on December 3.
In the ribbon cutting ceremony of the monolith, Rio expressed profound gratitude to the pioneers, who founded the colony 50 years ago. He also called upon the residents to be united and broad-minded in their aspirations as they are vital for progress and developments.
An update from NDPP 5 Ghaspani-II AC media secretary, Thejangukho Yalietsu, stated Rio also led the gathering in a one minute silence as mark of respect to the founding members of the colony. He also challenged members to take the colony to higher level in recognition of the efforts rendered by the founding members.
Rio also urged every resident to be socially responsible, be it for the uplift of the colony or Dimapur or Nagaland as a whole. Asserting that “irresponsible failures on our part in the society can become seeds of dissension,” he requested everyone to be sensible towards the interest of the society.
Talking his mind on Covid-19 pandemic, Rio stated that Nagas have the tendency to stigmatise things unnecessarily thereby creating confusion without knowing facts. In this regard, he appealed to learn living with the new normal and follow all necessary protocols given by the concerned department.
The inaugural function was chaired by Ruopfükhrielie, while the opening prayer was said by Vilasetuo, pastor of NAC, and Kevise Sogotsu delivered the welcome address. Short speeches were also delivered by presidents of Northern Angami Public Organisation (NAPO) and Northern Angami Kuda Union. Seyiekielie Chadi, GB of the colony, delivered the vote of thanks.
