Advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, called upon the youth to pursue entrepreneurship
DIMAPUR — Advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, called upon the youth to pursue entrepreneurship and also encouraged the prospective youth to apply for Chief Minister Microfinance Scheme to augment their business.
Zhaleo stated this during the inauguration of the new office of Medziphema Town Council (MTC) at Medziphema City Centre on Tuesday. He highlighted that City Centre, the first of its kind in Nagaland, was yet to be fully functional although it was inaugurated by the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, in May 2022.
On the occasion, Zhaleo called upon the people of Medziphema subdivision to take the advantage and the opportunity to establish their business at the centre. He has particularly called upon the youth to pursue entrepreneurship and encouraged the prospective youth to apply for CM Microfinance scheme to augment their business, stated a press release issued by Thejangukho Yalietsu, media secretary of NDPP 5 Ghaspani-II AC.
On maintenance of the new office, Zhaleo said, “everyone must consider the centre as one’s own property and take good care to keep it clean,” adding that Nagas must learn hygienic ways of life and cleanliness. He urged the public to safeguard the building and utilise it to the optimum.
While stating that “good society will usher positive changes,” Zhaleo requested the people to be big-hearted and shed negative attitudes, isms, hatred and jealousy. He further hinted that more sheds might be constructed in the compound to accommodate vegetable sellers and others as in daily markets.
The additional deputy commissioner of Medziphema, Imsongmeren, who chaired the function, has briefed on the building where the ground floor is meant for business, shops etc, while the first floor for offices or other establishments and the top floor for hotel. He informed that several applicants have submitted required documents and are waiting for allocation.

Others who spoke included Solesul Tholre, director and head of Municipal Affairs department, and Miathou Krose, advisor, CEB, NDPP.
Rev. Zhabu Terhüja, pastor of BCAMT, invoked God’s blessing, while local artiste presented a song and Selemla, SDO , delivered the vote of thanks. The function was attended by officials from various departments in Medziphema town, GBs, CSO leaders and representative from different villages in the subdivision.
