ZGC observes World Consumer Rights Day

DIMAPUR — The Economics department of Zunheboto Government College (ZGC), in collaboration with Zunheboto District Legal Services Authority (ZDLSA), observed World Consumer Rights Day on March 15 at the college premises on the theme ‘Fair and responsible AI for consumers.’

The resource person and penal lawyer of ZDLSA, Inolito Aye, explained the details of Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and its redressal. She also said that since artificial intelligence (AI) has taken the digital world by storm, it would also have serious implications on consumers’ safety such as misinformation, privacy concerns etc., stated an update from the college.

The resource persons stated that, as a consumer, one must address those issues for a fair and responsible AI.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Hulika Zhimo, assistant professor of Economics. The event was attended by 115 students and six faculty members.
