Dimapur, Jan. 17: Against the call made by the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) of five tribes to DMC candidate Aphian Pamei from Ward 18 to withdraw her candidature, the Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland has stated that she is an active member of the organisation residing at Zeliangrong village in Dimapur.
The JCC had earlier contended that the candidate was not eligible to contest the DMC elections since ‘she falls under the Rongmei community’. In a press statement, the Baudi stated that “individualising” the candidate “seems to be too rude towards Zeliangrong representative” living in Dimapur, Nagaland. “Has there been any difference or grudge against her, Baudi advocates to settle the matter without dragging the issue in public domain”, it stated.
