Zasivi FC win 1st Kohima district futsal championship

Kohima, Sept. 4 (EMN): Zasivi FC Jotsoma won the 1st Kohima District Futsal Championship defeating Lhouchalie FC Meriema 7-2 in the final match played at L Viluo FIFA Pro Turf, Meriema, on September 3.

The winner walked away with a cash prize of INR 30,000 along with trophy and citations while the runner-up team received INR 20,000, trophy and citations.

Earlier in the first semi-final match, Lhouchalie FC Meriema defeated Circle FC 5-1 while in the second match Zasivi FC Jotsoma beat Sechü Zubza FC 3-1.

The two-day championship was organized by the Kohima District Football Association (KDFA).

The winner, Zasivi FC Jotsoma will represent Kohima district in the upcoming Nagaland futsal championship to be held soon.

President of Angami Sports Association (ASA), Lhoubeizo Mere Kesiyie, who graced the closing ceremony as the guest of honour, in his address urged the players to be committed in their sports discipline.

Kesiyie said players in the state have the potential to excel and with trained coaches and referees, he hoped that the players would improve and go on to represent the district, state, and country.
