YSUD organises career guidance seminar

Dimapur, April 24 (EMN): Yimkhiung Students’ Union Dimapur (YSUD) organised career guidance seminar on the theme “Fostering Career Understanding and Decision-Making” at Yimkhiung Baptist Church Dimapur (Half Nagarjan) on April 23.

An update informed that the seminar had two sessions with Yanthrongla Yanthan, commercial tax officer (Dimapur), Paukizonne Mariam, assistant professor, Immanuel College (Dimapur), and Debojyoti Sarkar, head of operations, Pinnacle Skills (Dimapur) as panel of speakers.

During the first session, Yanthrongla Yanthan oriented the gathering on competitive exams and their types. She emphasised on strategies to prepare exams, adding that studying smart is equally important as working hard.

Meanwhile, Paukizonne Mariam encouraged the students to have a clear-cut career path by choosing the right stream after clearing HSLC or HSSLC exam. “Career choices are life choices. Take them seriously, do it right”, the speaker added.

In the second session, Debojyoti Sarkar highlighted the importance of local economy and youths as the driving force. He encouraged the youths to respect dignity of labour and understand the value of work. It added that the event was attended by 150 youths.
