DIMAPUR— Advisor of Youth Resources and Sports (YR&S), S Keoshu Yimkhiung, was inducted as the 13th president of Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides (NSBSG) along with five other officials during an induction ceremony held on Wednesday at NSBSG headquarters in Bayavu Hill, Kohima.
In his acceptance speech, Keoshu gave glory to God for the opportunity to serve as the president of NSBSG. He acknowledged the founder, Lord Baden Powell, for the sacrifices he has made and spreading to 216 countries and territories across the world.
He stated that Nagaland has become a centre of young and energetic volunteers to serve the society in particular and nation in general since its inception in the year 1967. The advisor acknowledged the state officials for their initiative in gathering 4000 active members at present in the state.
Keoshu stated that scouting helps the youth in development of academic, life skills, self confidence, leadership skill and citizen skill, which also influence the adult’s lives. He further urged the gathering to push the association to the highest level in all activities together by working together as a team.
The programme was chaired by NSBSG vice president, Wezope Kenye, while the state secretary, Thepfuzakie Suohu, delivered the keynote address and the vote of thanks was delivered by state commissioner (G), Nino Iralu.
Warrants for state commissioner (Bulbul), Chubanungla, state commissioner (Cub) Om Prakash Gupta, and state commissioner (Rover) Kuoliebeizo Mepfhü-o were presented by the new NSBSG president.
