Dimapur, Dec. 8 (EMN):  YouthNet hosted a two-day Northeast civil society organisations (CSOs) network meet 2022, a first of its kind collaboration that brought together 16 CSOs from across the Northeast on a single platform to address key challenges and push for policy action and reform, on December 6 and 7 at Kohima and Naga Heritage Village, Kisama.

An update from YouthNet informed that the two-day meet was organised by Quest Alliance, a Bengaluru-based organisation which has been anchoring a CSOs network for the Northeast region. The network consisted of sixteen NGO partners from across the region and all the partners contributed in various sectors of development which ranges from child rights, youth employability, livelihoods, rural development to name a few.

The two-day meet envisaged to share the learning and key activities to a larger audience with an objective to further disseminate the discourse by the CSOs network by creating an interest amongst the participants apart from the members of the CSOs who worked on three key thematic areas such as innovation, capacity building and research and advocacy.

It stated that the meet culminated with the Green Innovation Award with Reny Wilfred, joint secretary of Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) as the special guest.

Under innovations, the CSOs identified five innovators in the Northeast spearheading ‘Green Innovation,’ which focused on driving sustainable development ranging from green entrepreneurs working in areas of waste management, sustainable food production, to freelance creators documenting the environmental challenges.

The winners of the Green Innovation Award were Thejaviko Chase from Nagaland, Vivian Pajuh from Meghalaya, LP Albert from Arunachal Pradesh, Peihauding from Nagaland and Paul Lokho from Nagaland.

Report further stated that the Northeast CSOs network would continue engaging with the innovators by finding funding opportunities to scale up innovations and also take up capacity building workshops with network partners to promote early adoption and sustainability.
