YouthNet teams up with Asian Paints to impart painting skills training

DIMAPUR — A six-day training programme aimed to equip Nagaland’s youth with essential painting skills was organised by YouthNet, in partnership with Asian Paints Color Academy, at YouthNet Office, Chümoukedima, on Monday.

The progamme was inaugurated in the presence of Bikash Kalita, supervisor, and Utpal Deka, technical executive and master trainer, Asian Paints Color Academy, an update stated.

Razouvikhol Luho, nodal officer and senior manager, YouthNet, expressed gratitude to Asian Paints for consistent its support. He highlighted the programme’s significance and encouraged the participants to make the most of the six-day training.

Nuneseno Chase, director of YouthNet, emphasised the importance of the partnership with Asian Paints Limited and urged participants to fully engage in the training programme. Chase remarked that this initiative was not only about training but also about creating a sustainable pathway of success for the youth.

Urging the participant to seize every opportunity for learning and growth, she added that dedication and perseverance would not only shape individual futures but also contribute to the socio-economic development of the state.

The basic painter training programme, collaboration between YouthNet and Asian Paints Limited since 2018, aims to train 120 youth across Nagaland, with training centers in Kohima and Chümoukedima-Dimapur. The curriculum covers various topics including construction painting techniques, surface preparation, safety precautions and hands-on practical sessions.

In addition to the painter training, YouthNet plans to introduce further skill development initiatives, including plumbing, to bolster Nagaland’s construction sector, the update stated.
