DIMAPUR — YouthNet, in collaboration with Asian Paints Colour Academy, on Tuesday launched the second batch of the ‘Wall Pro’ basic construction painter course at its main office in Kohima.
An update from YouthNet informed that the six-day training programme aims to equip the youth of Nagaland with essential painting skills, thereby enhancing their employability in the construction sector.
YouthNet has partnered with Asian Paints, one of India’s leading paint companies, to bring the “Colour Academy” initiative to Nagaland as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. Since the beginning of their collaboration in 2018, YouthNet and Asian Paints Limited have focused on empowering youth through skill development initiatives, particularly in the construction sector, the statement read.
The basic painter training programme aims to train 120 youth across Nagaland with dedicated training centres in Kohima and Chümoukedima-Dimapur. The initiative not only aims to provide participants with valuable skills but also seeks to address the demand for skilled labour in the region’s construction sector.
To further boost the construction sector in Nagaland, it stated that YouthNet is set to introduce plumbing training in partnership with Asian Paints “Plumbing Guru Programme Bathsense” beginning on May 28, 2024. The initiative was designed to provide specialised plumbing training to enhance the skills of existing plumbers across the region.
