Youth Resources & Sports informs on inter-tribal indigenous games competitions

Dimapur, Nov. 15 (EMN): The department of Youth Resources & Sports (YR&S) has informed all the tribal participants for the forthcoming Hornbill Festival that the department will be organising inter-tribal indigenous games competitions.

According to an update, the indigenous games include stilt bamboo race (men only) with one participant from each tribe; traditional shot put (men only) with one participant from each tribe; traditional fire-making (men only) with one participant from each tribe and tug-of-war (both men & women) with eight participants from each tribe for both categories. Cash prizes will be given to the winners.

For stilt bamboo and traditional fire-making, the participants have to bring their equipment for the competitions.

Inter-tribal indigenous games competitions are subject to tribal cultural troupes only, it stated.
