Youth in Mokokchung trained in vermicomposting

Dimapur, Dec. 5 (EMN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Mokokchung, in collaboration with the State Agriculture Management and Extension Training Institute (Sameti) and National Institute of Extension Management (Manage), organised a six-day training under Skill Training of Rural Youth (Stry) from November 30 to December 5 at DEF, Chuchuyimpang.

An update from a senior scientist and head of KVK, Mokokchung, Dr. Keviletsu Khate stated that the resource person Samuel Sangtam, ACTO (Agronomy) conducted training on vermicomposting, an important component of soil amendment to enhance soil fertility for every organic farmers. The training included vermicompost preparation and its avenues followed by practical demonstrations.

The resource person was assisted by technical officers from KVK Mokokchung namely Ilika Achumi and Moainla Longkumer.

Altogether, 15 youth have participated in the training. The six-day training concluded with distribution of certificate and evaluation.
