Our Correspondent
Kohima, March 6 (EMN): Concerned over traditional skills slowly disappearing among today's youth, a group of like-minded women from different khels (sectors) of Kohima village called Lidi Kro-u, conducted a daylong training on traditional skills and knowledge for young boys and girls at Ziekezou in Kohima on Saturday.

As part of the workshop, Lidi Kro-u imparted training on weaving traditional headgear (tsüla do dojükecü) and rice pounding and cleaning (ketsü thu mu pekhrei kecü) to some youths.

It was informed that the group came up with the idea of a training programme on sensing lack of knowledge about age-old practices and use of traditional items.

The group said that it will continue to impart such traditional skills, folklores, cultural songs and traditional practices to youngsters who are interested in learning.
