Dimapur, March 27 (EMN): The Western Chakhesang Youth Organisation (WCYO) has served the Dimapur police administration with an ultimatum to arrest one accused person involved in what it alleged was physical assault on one of its members, by April 29 next.

In a memorandum issued to the commissioner of Dimapur police, the organisation stated that its member, “Pothita Phesao, son of former chief minister Mr. Vamuzo Phesao” was physically assaulted by one Hukuto Zhimomi, when the former was “carrying out developmental work on his legitimate plot of land in a peaceful manner.”

According to the statement: “The WCYO strongly condemn the physical assault, verbal abuse and threat to cut Mr Pothita’s throat if he ever comes back to the plot. Such a person should not be roaming freely in any civilise(sic) society for peaceful coexistence.”

It pointed out that the police was yet to “submit the charge-sheet” to the court”. “The WCYO demands the police to submit the charge sheet and arrest the culprit immediately on or before 29/4/17 so as not to aggravate things further and failing which the government will be held responsible in case of any untoward incident.”
