- DIMAPUR — The
Young Nagas Action Committee for Foothill Road (YNACFR) has expressed
disappointment over the state government’s decision to exclude the Nagaland
Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) from the consultative meeting
convened on April 30 to discuss on the foothill road project.
- “The NFHRCC has been the sole and consistent body overseeing
and championing the foothill road initiative since its inception for more than
a decade ago. It has worked tirelessly to coordinate efforts, mobilise public
support and ensure that this vital infrastructural project is not lost in
bureaucratic inertia or political neglect,” the committee stated.
- It has termed as ‘unfortunate and unacceptable’ that the
NFHRCC was not extended an invitation to participate in a meeting. It added
that the exclusion not only undermined the invaluable contributions and
sacrifices made by the committee but also raised serious questions about the
government’s sincerity and transparency in handling the foothill road issue.

- It, therefore, urged the state government to acknowledge the
pivotal role played by the NFHRCC and to rectify the oversight without delay.
It felt that constructive dialogue and genuine inclusivity are essential if the
people are to see real progress on the ground.
- While expressing solidarity with the NFHRCC, the committee
called upon all right-thinking citizens to raise their voices in support of
accountability and justice in the pursuit of infrastructural development in
Nagaland.
