DIMAPUR — The Yopikyu Thongtsar Memorial Trust (YTMT) launched its coaching programme for 2024 on Wednesday at the 2K Hotel in Kohima, with, in the first phase, sponsoring 37 students—34 general and three technical.

According to a press release, Lipongse Thongtsar, additional director, Industries and Commerce, delivered the keynote address and mentioned that YTMT was founded in memory of their late father, Yopikyu Thongtsar.

He stated that his father was the first to matriculate among the Sangtams of Kiphire district and later entered politics, serving as Minister after being elected to the Nagaland Assembly for three consecutive terms beginning in 1977.

He urged the students to be educated in the true sense so that they can face any challenges and overcome them with the power of education, thereby achieving their goals.

During the event, Lonivi, branch manager of NPSC Mentors in Kohima, and Sato Nyuwi, SDO of PWD Housing and co-founder of Vega Coaching Institute, spoke about their respective institutions and their features.

Khekali H Awomi, delivering a short speech on behalf of the students, thanked YTMT for the opportunity and generous sponsorship while also encouraging her fellow aspirants to achieve their goals and contribute to the community.
