Yongnyah Town Baptist Church celebrates 39th foundation day
DIMAPUR — The Yongnyah Town Baptist Church celebrated its 39th foundation on January 20 at Yongnyah, Longleng, with chairperson D Nganan presiding over the event.
According to a DIPR update, speaking on the occasion, Dr. Samuel Akho Konyak P, EAC Longleng Hq and incharge Yongnyah emphasised the essence of the church as the body of Christ, transcending physical structures, and encouraged the congregation to actively engage in community building, provide mental and emotional support, offer spiritual guidance, and speak out against societal ills.
Bongveih, a founding member, recounted the church’s early struggles and triumphs, while the event’s speaker, H Mongngoi, associate pastor of Longleng Town Baptist Church, spoke on the theme “You are a chosen people,” exploring the contrast between megachurches worldwide, marked by potential divisions, and the profound spiritual works and miracles witnessed in smaller congregations faithfully following the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
He urged the church to remain committed to spiritual growth, community service, and unity, and emphasised that the event should be both a reflection on their journey and a rallying cry for a future guided by unwavering faith and purpose.
The programme was attended by pastors from various churches, village council chairmen, VCMs, GBs and elders from Yongnyah and neighbouring villages.
