YMC conducts inter-dept. literary competition

DIMAPUR — Commemorating ‘World Creativity and Innovation Day,’ the Literary Club under the aegis of English department of Yemhi Memorial College organised an 'Inter-departmental literary competition' on April 21 at the college auditorium.

In her welcome address, the head of English department, Amongla Imsong, informed the objective of the programme which was aimed at igniting and fueling creativity, to showcase the talents and skills, and to break the monotony of regular classroom learning.

An update from the college stated that a variety of competitions including public speaking, Spin-a-tale, Declamation, and Poetry recitation were conducted. It stated that Hoboli Jakha from History department won the first prize in public speaking, while Likuvu Jimo from English department won the first prize in poetry recitation and Thelemcha from Education department won the first prize in declamation and Gaurab Das from English department won the first position in spin-a-tale.

It stated that certificates and prizes were awarded to the winners and a token of appreciation was handed out to all the participants and judges.
