Yingli College observes silver jubilee

Dimapur, Dec. 7 (EMN): Yingli College, the brain child of the Association of Phom Graduates and Officers (APGO) celebrated its silver jubilee on December 6 with S Pangnyu Phom, Advisor of DUDA & NEPED, and BS Nganlang Phom, parliamentary secretary of Land Resources & Excise, as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Pangnyu congratulated APGO for having the visions for the future generation. He appealed to the faculty members to make Yingli College as a role model in imparting quality education to the students and to adopt job orientation course and skill development education to provide job opportunity to the students.
Also speaking on the occasion, BS Nganlang called upon the faculty members to emphasise on human resource development for all round development. He also called upon the gathering to honour the pioneers and to continue working hard for the development of the college.
He exhorted to focus on the future development of the lone college of the district with a commitment.
Dr. L Anjo Keikung, first general secretary and former president of APGO, urged upon the faculty members to continue to strive for excellence to uplift the college to greater height. He also appealed to the students to fulfil the dreams and visions of the pioneers through hard work and dedication with commitment. Greetings were proposed by Arup Borgohain, son of Prof. K Borgohain, founder Principal Yingli College; P Chingan, president PPC; Y Denngan Avennoho Phom, DC Longleng; E Ongha Phom, chairman Bhumnyu village council; YB Angam, president APGO and former CMC chairman; Dr. Kongyan, former president APGO and secretary of the college organising committee. Exhortation was delivered by T Imdong Phom, first president APGO.
The celebration began with the singing of college anthem presented by the alma mater, while the invocation was said by Y Nuklu Phom, executive secretary PBCA, followed by welcome address by the college principal K Hokheto Sumi.
