Yingli College commemorates foundation day

Dimapur, Sep. 9 (EMN): Yingli College Longleng commemorated 26th Foundation Day cum Literary & Cultural Event on Sat. Sep. 8 with Association of Phom Graduates & Officers (APGO) general secretary Y Tauhong Phom as its special guest.
Addressing the 26th foundation day of the day cum literacy and cultural event, Phom recounted the years when the college was under private establishment before it was taken over by the Government of Nagaland in February 2006. He also exhorted the students to fulfil the dream of the college by bringing better academic results and also by excelling in life.

The event was marked with competition of folk dance judged by Bushem, H. Chongpang and C. Theppen, quartet judged by Dikhrou Dianuo, Mhasinuo Rio, Dr. Vizolenuo Sophie, and debate judged by Dr. A K Chowdhary, Lanunochit Pongen, Dr. Toli Achumi with N. Nyakloi as the time keeper.

In debate competition the first prize was bagged by Chingmei, 2nd by Lenke and 3rd by L Manpo. In the folk dance category the 1st prize was won by the V Semester students, and 2nd prize by semester III while in the quartet category, the 1st prize was won by Semester III, and 2nd prize by Semester I.

The Principal of Yingli College Longleng K Hokheto Sumi delivered the key note address while special song was presented by Chumei B and P. Chauyong of Semester I. The programme was anchored by L. Lungshing and Yangmoiosab of BA Semester V. A team of Personal Assistants to Minister, Higher & Teachnical Education visited the college, it was informed.
