Yimchungrü students warn erring officials

Dimapur, April 2 (EMN): Yimchungrü Akherü Arihako (YAA), frontal students’ organisation of the Yimchungrü tribe, directed all officers posted at various places within its jurisdiction to immediately report at their respective place of posting, while it cautioned that it will not compromise or tolerate dereliction of duties.

YAA claimed to have detected government officers and staff of various departments posted within its jurisdiction taking undue advantage due to remoteness of the region by neglecting their assigned duties. While highlighting the plight of the public in their absence, YAA urged all officers posted at various places to report immediately so that any pertinent matter could be addressed to with prompt and effectiveness.

YAA, in a joint issued by its president S Yansomong and Achung Jangleh, sought requested the administration of Shamator and Pungro sub-divisions to ensure attendance of every government employee in their respective place of postings.

YAA has also express seriously concern to observe that most of the village council chairmen and VDB secretaries were found dwelling in towns totally neglecting the assigned duties and affairs of their village. Stating that their absence ultimately hamper various developmental activities and administration of the respective village, it asked VCCs and VDB secretaries to remain in their respective village and look after the welfare of the villagers. It also urged the concerned administrative officers of every sub-division and administrative headquarters to seriously take note on the issue.

YAA also announced to would check absence of teachers within its jurisdiction as well as on irregularities and misuse of various welfare funds meant for students. It said YAA would not hesitate to forward to the competent authority for appropriate action against any erring teacher or officer and staff.

YAA also detected rampant transfer of teachers along with post in various schools without the knowledge of the concerned VECs. Viewing seriously on such practices by considering the career of the students at large, YAA said it will not remain silent spectator but stand against random decision of the government and the department concerned.

YAA also fervently appealed to the State government to do away with ‘pending salaries’ culture and see that welfare of the teachers appointed under CSS projects are equally taking care of.

Meanwhile, all YAA officials including advisors are informed to attend a coordination meeting on April 4 at Shamator headquarters.
