Yepthomi urges officers to ensure development reach grassroots

DIMAPUR — Lok Sabha MP, Tokheho Yepthomi, has urged the departments to coordinate and identify the villages and beneficiaries for effective implementation of the centrally sponsored schemes and also instructed the officers to sensitise the public to enable development reach the grassroots.

Yepthomi stated this while addressing the officers during the district development coordination and monitoring committee (DISHA) meeting held in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner in Niuland on April 3. Yepthomi, who is also the chairperson of DISHA, called upon the officers to adapt new development and challenges with change of time.

He informed that the committee was set up to monitor the efficient and time-bound development of centrally sponsored schemes all over the state, a DIPR report stated.

It stated that Food and Civil Supplies, Social Welfare, Agriculture, Horticulture, Medical, Education, Road and Bridges, PHED, Rural Development, and Land Resources departments made detailed presentation on central schemes implementation from the year 2018- 2022. The committee members also deliberated on various schemes and implementation in the district.

Informing that coordination meeting would be held quarterly, he urged the officers to submit detailed reports of schemes implemented in the district.

The deputy commissioner of Niuland, Sara S Jamir, chaired the meeting.
