Dimapur, Nov. 15 (EMN): Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Yemhi Memorial College (YMC) organised a one-day seminar on intellectual property rights (IPR) and geographical indication (GI) on November 14 with Gihukali Chishi, technical in-charge of Science and Technology department, as the resource person.
Addressing the students, Gihukali Chishi highlighted on the various aspects of intellectual property rights and vulnerability of the people in losing their culture, identity, inventions and ideas to others.
She, however, mentioned that the people can now safeguard their intellectual properties with the aid of Science and Technology department as the nodal agency. The resource speaker also provided a pamphlet each on Patent Information Centre (PIC) to all the participants.
Two assistant professors and 10 students from MGM College, Dimapur, also attended as special invitees, an update from the college stated on Friday.
