Dimapur, Feb. 6 (EMN): Yehemi village in Zunheboto district celebrated 100 years of Christianity on February 6 with the advisor of Tourism, Art and Culture, H Khehovi Yeputhomi, as the special guest.

Speaking at the programme, the advisor congratulated Yehemi villagers on attaining 100 years of Christianity and described as one the villages blessed by God, which has produced many prominent leaders. Some of the leaders from village included retired director of Wasteland and former minister of Road and Bridges Khutovi Aye, former MLA Kanito Chophi, retired chief engineer of Water Resources department Kughaho Chophy, current chief engineer of Water Resources department Hotovi Aye, chief justice of NSCN (IM) Vitoi Aye, president of NSCN/GPRN led by Akato Chophi, Maj. Gen. Aheto Chophi etc.

Khehovi also stated that Yehemi is a parent village to 13 villages, which migrated from Yehemi village and established separate villages, stated an update from the press secretary to the advisor.

Khehovi also called upon the people of Yehemi village to live an exemplary life as matured Christians with the attainment of 100 years milestone.

He further lauded the town dwellers from Yehemi village for constructing their respective houses in the village, which has now become like a well developed town.
