Yanthan inaugurates new directorate building of Agriculture department

DIMAPUR — Advisor of Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan, inaugurated the new directorate building of Agriculture department below Phezoucha at New Secretariat in Kohima on Tuesday.

Speaking at the inaugural programme, Yanthan congratulated the department for successful completion of the new office building and expressed hope that the new office would foster cohesive work culture among the officers and staff. He also encouraged the department to take ownership of the new office building and work for the uplift of public.

Yanthan further called upon the officers and staff to be committed and sincere in their work place and leave a good legacy, stated an update from Agriculture department.

Also speaking at the programme, Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC), R Binchilo Thong, stated that the new office building was a realisation of a long cherished dream of the department. He expressed hope that the directorate building in the capital complex area would go a long way in solving the problem of coordination between the directorate and the secretariat.

He further encouraged the officers and staff to create the most productive decision for the farmers and the state.

Meanwhile, the director of Agriculture, M Ben Yanthan, urged the officers and staff to work sincerely for the welfare of the department with the achievement of a new directorate building.

The technical report was presented by Achakbou Newmai, SE Agriculture, wherein he informed that the six storey building was constructed at a cost of INR 15 crore comprising 60 rooms with a total area of 39,878 sq.ft.

The dedicatory prayer was administered by Keduoneituo Yhome, pastor of Phezoucha Baptist Church, New Secretariat, Kohima. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by additional director, C Peter Yanthan.
