Yanthan advises youth told to take society forward
Elaborating on the fast changing world, advisor of Horticulture and Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan, has encouraged the students to hold discussion on current issues in order to take the society forward in all fronts.
Yathan stated this on the second day of the Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) general conference held at Liphanyan village under Wokha district on Thursday. Yanthan also inaugurated the monolith stone and hoisted the union’s flag.
As the world is changing at a fast pace, he stated that everyone should adapt with the change and also grow along with the world. He urged the students to hold brainstorming sessions on issues and challenges confronting the present generation. Besides, he also cautioned the student organisations being politicised.
Yathan further encouraged the students to know their roots and preserve their identity.
Chairman of Lotha Hoho, president of Naga Council Dimapur, president Naga Students’ Federation and the chairman of Ralan Area Lotha Hoho delivered short messages.
In the afternoon session, Lichan Humtsoe, theme speaker and CEO of Ete Coffee, spoke on “People of the land must become the brand.”
K Renphamo Lotha, district agriculture officer, Mon, was the special guest of the inaugural function.
He encouraged the youth to be patient, set goal, work hard in order for success to follow. He also advised the youth to be independent and not depend on their parents. He further advised the youth to remain healthy and stay away from indulging in intoxication substances.
