Dimapur, Nov. 19 (EMN): Twitch streamer Félix “xQc” Lengyel has been temporarily banned from the streaming platform after he was caught stream sniping at a recent Fall Guys Twitch Rivals event.

According to the official statement from Twitch, xQc has violated Twitch’s TOS guidelines and so, the streamer has been handed a temporary one-week suspension from the site. Additionally, xQc will also have to forfeit the prize money and he has been banned from any Twitch Rivals event for 6 months.

The ban comes after a number of high-profile streamers including Shroud, Tyler1 and DrLupo expressed their disappointment on xQc’s stream sniping shenanigans. The incident took place at a Fall Guys Twitch Rivals tournament at Glitchcon where xQc stream sniped a team made up of DrLupo, Shroud, and Tyler1 and eliminated them from the competition. Tyler1 confronted xQc for his actions and a heated argument between the two streamers ensued. Although Tyler1 was clearly not happy with what xQc had done on a live event, however, he told his viewers that he hoped xQc does not get a permanent ban but rather a suspension. Shroud also chimed in with his opinion calling xQc a ‘moron’ and that he had lost all respect for the 25-year-old streamer. Shroud speculated that since it was a competitive tournament involving a cash prize, xQc could potentially face a ban for his conduct.

Shroud’s prediction turned out to be true and the suspension was confirmed after Twitch Rivals posted a tweet listing out the details of xQc’s temporary ban from the streaming platform and associated events.

xQc apologised shortly after the event by sending out a tweet where he stated that he should not have done it and that he meant it as a joke. He sent out a second apology after the news about his suspension was announced.

The latest suspension means that xQc has now been banned from Twitch for the third time this year. He had earlier received a ban on February for playing an explicit version of Connect Four on stream and received a second suspension for accidentally showing two gorillas having sex on stream. xQc is one of the biggest streamers on the Twitch platform with more than 4.1 million followers and his YouTube channel has more than 1.1 million subscribers.
