XI Brother Wokha Village lift LSU Martyr’s Trophy

Wokha, April 22 (EMN): XI Brother Wokha Village lifted the 20th edition of Lotha Students’ Union Martyr’s Trophy defeating Airfield Colony FC at local ground in Wokha on Thursday. 

After a goalless match in full time, the match officials called for a penalty shootout where XI Brother Wokha Village won the tie-breaker 5-4.

 The winner pocketed a cash prize of INR 60,000 with a running trophy and certificate while the second runner-up claimed a cash prize of INR 40,000 with a running trophy and certificate. 

K Remphamo Lotha, principal IETC Medziphema and director of Sameti, graced the culmination programme as the special guest. He spoke on health and mental wellness and reminded that fitness was an important tool to shine in every field.

He said education must not be neglected and reminded that students must dedicate themselves to their duty and responsibility as good opportunities would come later for their efforts and sacrifices.

 Meanwhile, he told the community not to compromise in any development like road, schools education, health, water, electricity and even religious institutes.

He told the gathering the need for reformation in the education and religion sectors.

 He said that Lothas had been blessed with richness in biodiversity and many mineral resources, and called to utilise those resources to help the society grow. He also reminded the people of the younger and present generation to be skilful and self-reliant. 

Earlier, an exhibition match was played between LSU officials and Deputy Commissioner (DC) XI where LSU won the match 2-0.
