Xekiye village gets customary court building
Dimapur, Sp. 20 (EMN): The customary court building at Xekiye village, under Rural Development Block, Kuhuboto (Dimapur) was inaugurated by the Block Development Officer (BDO), Phoishe Sema in the presence of department officials and village elders and also villagers from neighbouring villages.
A press release received here said that the BDO Phoishe Sema, while speaking at the inaugural programme, said that the court building is for the welfare of the entire village and therefore, lauded the villagers for making proper utilisation of the fund and completing the building on time.
Saying that the government has empowered the villages for the development of respective villages with assistance from the concerned department, Sema said that it was the responsibility of the of the village development board to utilise the funds judiciously; he said that the department will give more assistance to those villages who uses their funds prudently.
The release also disclosed that the assistant Engineer, of RD Block Kuhuboto, Supongchilung said that the count building was constructed under the funding of the MGNREGA and VDB Grant-in-Aid. VDB secretary of the village Zhetovi Chophy presented a report on the construction of the court building while the pastor of Xekiye Baptist Church, Rev. Lutozhe Achumi dedicated the church building.
