WOKHA — The Wokha Village Council (WVC) conducted a road extension survey on May 8 and May 13, extending from Wokha Town (Mother Church) Baptist Church junction through DBHSS Wokha to Wokha village.

The village council informed that the survey was conducted due to the land encroachment of a proposed road by some individuals and private institutions, acting in their individual interests, which narrowed down the road.

Following the survey, the WVC also issued a written notice to all individuals and private institutions to clear the road, which includes the removal of walls, fencing, and garages by May 31.

Further, the council warned that individuals or institutions failing to remove the obstruction on or before May 31 will face demolition or eviction.

The WVC sought support and cooperation, stating that the initiative of the road survey was done in the interest of the general public.
