DIMAPUR, JUNE 17: A number of Pochury Naga organizations have raised queries concerning the functioning of the “Wuzu Firing Incident Inquiry Commission” and have expressed resentment against the Nagaland government. The Pochury Hoho convened a meeting with frontal groups on June 16 at Meluri under Phek district, the organizations stated in a press release issued through the media on Friday. The press release was appended by the leaders of the Pochury Hoho, the Pochury Gaon Burah Union, the Pochury Students’ Union, the Pochury Youth Association, the Pochury Mothers’ Association, and the Meluri Area Public Organization.

“That, the undersigned would like to question on how and why the inquiry commission to address the media on 18th June 2016 at GA Rest House Meluri. Where the commission set up on 22nd November 2015 by the Government of Nagaland could not furnish even a single statement for the last seven months prior to the date of commissioning the commission,” the statement questioned.
“Therefore, the undersigned seek clarification on media conference on 18/06/2016 at Meluri, called by the inquiry commission on Wuzu incident.”

Secondly, the organizations expressed “resentment to the government of Nagaland that the government could not assigned/attached stenographer and driver for the commission to execute their works in time… if the press release…are to be true.”

The community questioned why the government failed to provide stated requirements for the commission. “The inability of the government to provide the requirements shows the government is not serious over the plaintive issue,” the press release added.
