WSSA, Tehok FC enter final of Capt. N Kenguruse Football Tournament

KOHIMA — The Western Sumi Sports Association (WSSA) of Niuland and Tehok FC of Mon have secured their places in the final of the 7th edition of the Late Capt. N Kenguruse Mahavir Chakhra Memorial Football Tournament, which is underway at the IG Stadium in Kohima.

WSSA delivered an outstanding performance in the first semi-final match, defeating Peren’s Liangmai FC 6-2. WSSA took the lead in the 18th minute when Ngulgoulal found the back of the net, while Haileuyibe scored a remarkable hat-trick, scoring in the 29th, 48th, and injury time in the second half.

Mughahuto, another forward, followed suit, scoring a brace in the 61st and 64th minutes.

Yhunshalo Kemp scored in the 50th minute, and Weliso scored in the 71st minute as Liangmai FC battled hard. Despite their best efforts, they were unable to close the gap, and the final whistle confirmed WSSA’s 6-2 win.

Tehok FC dominates St. Xavier’s College Jalukie

Tehok FC demonstrated their dominance in the second semi-final match, defeating St. Xavier’s College Jalukie of Peren by a commanding score of 6-1.

Tehok FC took the lead in the 15th minute on Mengu’s goal, which was followed by a brace from S Salym in the 31st and 36th minutes. Lohe scored in the 47th minute, and Montin added two more goals in the 56th and 61st minutes.

Kidinlung scored the only goal for St. Xavier’s College Jalukie in the 38th minute.

With this victory, Tehok FC has earned their place in the grand finale, where they will face WSSA on Thursday at 3:30 pm.

La Ganesan, the Governor of Nagaland, will be the chief guest at the final match and closing ceremony.

At 8 am on the same day, Liangmai FC will face St. Xavier’s College Jalukie for third place.
