[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he way people are mistreated because of the color of their skin and their social status is a matter of concern for the social; workers. Our generation is not the only generation faced with racial abuses. It had been there in the past and it will be there in the future.To look down on people is the same as mocking at God’s creation. It’s a stigma which many are confronted with. To see people change. To see the world change. And to see our efforts paying off will give us a reason to be satisfied after all that we had been through. Racism is an issue which is creating headlines in all forms of media. When the heat is on that’s when the people like commenting on it. Not everyone will have the same answer to a certain question posed. People are different and they think and act differently. These evidences are not enough to highlight the attitude of man. But these are the characteristics which describes the nature of man. We like to do things according to what we think is right. And we write columns and reviews according to the concept we have about it.
Whenever we do something seldom do we think about the consequences of it. The problem with us is we don’t think twice before we act. The very mistake we commit in turn affects the lives of many. Sometimes we know not what we do because we think not what it cam lead to. As a result of our folly, the purpose of the quest can be affected.
When a crime is committed, the publicity of it wakes up the demons which are in many men and women. When a crime is racially motivated it invites the wrath of the people concerned. Riots takes place. Destruction of Government properties becomes the sole purpose of the protestors. As the uncivilized acts of destruction continues the topic of it intensifies.
These are the moments and these are the instances which fuels the lust for revenge. By making a big issue of it, we stir the hearts of the perpetuators continue doing what they do. Some acts of violence may be done on the basis of some divisive policies. Such discriminating policies infuriate the hearts of the common man. We are kept updated about the happenings around the world through the media. What everybody wants is equality. And what everybody shuns is violence. The world we live in has seen a surge of violence related to racial abuses. The situation hasn’t changed much since new laws had been introduced to impose harsh punishments on the ones responsible for the crime against humanity. It goes on to show the unrelialibility of man’s law.
Those who are emotionally driven tend to make a fuss about everything. The saying “ If you make haste, you will make a waste of your life” seems to be ignored by many. Some of the crime committed against foreigners can also be considered as a racial issue when it is so. But highlighting the gravity of the crimes gives rise to more crimes. The situation worsens when things starts getting out of control. Not only are properties damaged but lives are also lost because of it. Worst of all it stirs the hearts of the racist to be a menace to the weaker sections of the society. The publicity of certain things creates more controversies. And highlighting certain issues creates more chaos and confusion.
To find a solution to a certain issue, we have to analyze things first and then think of means and ways of solving it. Things can turn out for the worst when the negative aspects of it are highlighted. It’s the wisdom we apply that will make things turn out for the best. Why to add salts to the wounds when it is in the process of healing? In trying to ease the tension we only worsen the situation when we do things in the heat of the moment. In the midst of a debacle its important that we sit back and reflect on the strategies will be best suited for solving the problem. Instead of worsening the situation its important to maintain calm and restrain even in the midst of chaos and confusion. When we say a lot, a lot of damage can also be done. It is the things we do that determines the turn of events.
