Workshop on Young at Risk, policies & governance

The staff and volunteers of the Don Bosco Society of Dimapur, working for the Young at Risk (YaR) participated a workshop at Don Bosco Provincial House, Dimapur, conducted by Fr Mathew Thomas, National Secretary for YaR, Delhi on Friday. According to a press note, the purpose of the workshop was to disseminate and strengthen the policies and governance of the constitution of the Young at Risk.
The workshop was primarily organized to standardize the work for the Young at risk. The young at risk, are those who require special attention and care such as street involved children, child labourers, abandoned orphans, young prisoners or children in conflict with the law, young substance-abusers, children of displaced communities, children in the sex-trade and children affected by HIV/AIDS.
Currently there are 73 centres in different parts of India where the young at risk are catered to by the Don Bosco society.
Representatives from Don Bosco I-Card Jorhat, Sacred Heart Theological College Shillong, DBVTC Dimapur, Boscome Dimapur, Salesian College Dimapur, Don Bosco Dibrugarh, Don Bosco Golaghat, Don Bosco Kohima, enthusiastically participated in the workshop.
