DIMAPUR — A district level workshop on Routine Immunisation (RI) strengthening and Vaccine Preventable Diseases Surveillance (VPDS) was conducted for health workers of Wokha district at the CMO conference hall, Wokha, on Friday. District Immunisation Officer, Dr. Thungchanpeni Patton briefed the trainees on the importance of the workshop and welcomed the resource persons, an update stated.
The topics covered during the one-day session included national immunisation schedule, importance of communication, supportive supervision, vaccine preventable diseases surveillance and importance of routine immunisation for children.
Resource persons for the workshop were Dr. Sheila Longkumer, senior medical officer (WHO) and Dr. Pangjung, social and behaviour change communication officer (UNICEF) Kohima.
A refresher session on U-WIN and eVIN was also conducted by Chumdemo, VCCM Wokha. More than 40 participants from various health units in the district attended the training.
